Croc Lake Volunteer Recognition Party
The
Friends and Volunteers of the Refuges hosted a Community
Outreach/Volunteer Recognition event on January 9, 2011.
During
the event Ralph and Clay Degayner received the
Presidential Service award for
outstanding service to Crocodile Lake Refuge National Wildlife
Refuge, presented by Ranger Jim Bell and Croc Lake Refuge Manager
Steve Klett. |

Nicky Laak and Jill Patterson received
special recognition and a beautiful photograph taken by Carol Ellis
for their ten years of service to the Refuge. |

In attendance were Ranger James Bell,
Assistant Manager Karen Hillier, Manager of the Keys Refuges Anne
Morekill, the DeGayners, Monroe County Florida Commissioner Sylvia
Murphy, and Manager of the Crocodile Lake Refuge Steve Klett. |

Jill Patterson made a cake which was
decorated with critters made by one of our volunteers from Maine,
Janice Strout. |

Johnson Key Largo Hammock volunteers were raffled off by Jackie
